Chaplain Fisher is the District Chaplain for the 8th Marine Corps District Headquarters in Fort Worth, TX. In his position, he coordinates pastoral ministry and care for Marines and their families regardless of their religious beliefs over ten states and one million square miles and advises leadership on matters of morale, ethics, and religion.
Chaplain Fisher was born and raised in Aurora, IL. In 1998, he completed his undergraduate degree in Accountancy at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he was also a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and actively involved in Cru, a Christian campus ministry. Upon graduation, he worked for one year as a public accountant at Arthur Andersen in Chicago, IL before joining the campus staff of Cru at the University of Illinois where he mentored fraternity students and led leadership seminars for fraternities. After three years with Cru, Chaplain Fisher attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL where he earned his Master of Divinity degree in December 2005.
After graduating from seminary, he moved to St. Germain, WI where he served as Associate Pastor of Youth and Christian Education at St. Germain Evangelical Free Church. In June 2010, he joined the staff team at Oakwood Church in Hartland, WI as the Pastor of Student Ministries where he was officially ordained as a minister in the Evangelical Free Church of America and ministered until 2013.
On 14 June, 2013, Chaplain Fisher was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy Chaplain Corps. He completed Officer Development School in Newport, RI in September 2013 and Naval Chaplaincy School at Fort Jackson, SC in November 2013. Upon completion of his training, he reported to the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, CA to serve as Deputy Chaplain for the Marine Corps Communication-Electronics School.
In December 2015, he reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 3 in Kaneohe Bay, HI where he served as the Battalion Chaplain. While with Combat Logistics Battalion 3, he deployed to the Korean Peninsula and participated in WINTER WORKHORSE, RIMPAC 2016, ITX, BOUGAINEVILLE II, and RIMPAC 2018.
In December 2018, he reported to USS HARPERS FERRY (LSD 49) in San Diego, CA where he deployed with the BOXER AMPHIBIOUS READINESS GROUP to the FIFTH FLEET and SEVENTH FLEET AOR.
Chaplain Fisher’s decorations include three Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals and the Korea Defense Service Medal. He has been married to his wife, Erin, for 17 years and has two children, Caleb (15) and Alison (13). He enjoys reading, running, music (guitar), and alpine skiing.
